So I came across this video late last year. It's very good and I thought it worth reccing in case some of you haven't seen it.

Summary: The deal wasn't Sam's life for Dean's soul. It was that Sam be brought back a demon, and Dean agreed to it anyway. But when it quickly becomes apparent he has no control over the thing his brother has become, he has to make a decision on where his loyalties really lie.
